In the Building: Labs

Bio-Nano Metrology Lab

A patch-clamp system consisting of an inverted microscope, amplifier and digitizer provides real-time monitoring of cell metabolism. By punching through a cell membrane, the system measures ionic current and monitors membrane potential.

An X-ray nano-CT machine, the first delivered in Southern California, is available for recharge. The machine takes a computerized tomography image at the interface of materials at high resolution -- down to 100 nanometers.
