Dr. Peter Chang, Technical Lead and Co-Director of the Center for Artificial Intelligence in Diagnostic Medicine (CAIDM), will lead a workshop lecture series focused on the application of deep learning to healthcare problems. These workshops are aimed at providing the technical foundation and requisites needed to design and implement neural networks for various imaging and non-imaging medical applications. Each session will be divided into two parts separated by a 10 minute break: (1) 40-minute didactic topic overview (2) 70-minute guided hands-on coding lab using Jupyter notebooks to reinforce key concepts.

The target audience includes any students (undergraduate, masters, PhD), medical trainees and other University affiliates interested in building deep learning algorithms. Background in basic Python programming is recommended, however not required.

Please bring your personal laptop computer as the second part of the session will be the hands-on coding workshop.

All sessions will be held at the UC Irvine Calit2 Auditorium from 3pm to 5pm.

Upcoming sessions:

Session 7: Wednesday, August 7, 2019
