Research to Aid Persons with Disabilities

TOPIC: The National Science Foundation is inviting grant applications for research that will lead to the development of new technologies, devices, or software for persons with disabilities. Research may address the characterization, restoration, and/or substitution of human functional ability or cognition, or the interaction of persons with disabilities and their environment. Areas of particular recent interest are disability-related research in neuroscience/neuroengineering and rehabilitation robotics.

DEADLINE: The full proposal windows are February 1 to March 3, and August 15 to September 15.

FUNDS: Recent awards have ranged from $4,500 to $1.6 million.

ELIGIBILITY: NSF welcomes proposals on behalf of all qualified scientists, engineers and educators.
